This webinar features Medmarc’s Chief Claims Officer, Cynthia Khin, and Attorney Joseph Thomas, whose practice focuses on the life sciences industry and was involved in the recent Supreme Court case, Pliva, Inc. v. Mensing.  Together, they will recap the year in litigation and comment on trends the life sciences industry should expect for 2012.

Cynthia Khin is the Chief Claims Officer of Insurance Operations for Medmarc. Cindy is responsible for medical device claim investigation and settlement oversight, defense counsel selection, litigation management, trial preparation/supervision, claim reserve audits and assessments.  Cindy holds numerous insurance-related designations.  She has been with Medmarc for nearly twenty-five years. 


Joseph P. Thomas, Esq. is the Chair of the Life Sciences Group at the law firm Ulmer & Berne, LLP.   Joe has extensive experience in scientifically complex litigation. He holds undergraduate and doctorate degrees in pharmacy, has conducted clinical research and has published in scientific literature. He also is a member of the patent bar. His experience includes class actions, MDL litigation, mass torts and catastrophic-injury litigation.
